Here’s Ron Paul’s speech at his own pre-Convention rally in Tampa. The speech runs a little over an hour, and the NYT in a surprisingly supportive article employed some spot-on adjectives in describing it:

“On this evening, Mr. Paul, the longtime libertarian House member from Texas and presidential contender, was in characteristic form: animated, witty, irreverent and uncensored. He spoke for more than an hour to supporters who had waited five hours to hear him. At times, bursting with spirit, he shouted. At other moments, he lowered his voice to make his favorite points.”

With Ron Paul delegates at the real Convention being seated in the nosebleeds, Paul (the phony one) Ryan claiming to be Ron’s BFF on FOX, rumors (though they’re looking to be true) that camp. chair for Dr. Paul, Mr. Jesse Benton, has been in cahoots with the Romneyites for quite a while, it seems apparent that the RNC elite are pulling out all the stops to simultaneously squash a possible Paul resurgence and pretend that he’s somehow been welcomed into the non-existent big ole Republican tent. The charade is likely an attempt to woo some Paul supporters over to the Dark Side. What these morons don’t understand though, is that Paul supporters think. Logic is a difficult barrier to overcome when the ones you’re trying to persuade won’t accept being and don’t expect to be bought at another’s expense.

Here’s Paul Ryan lying through his teeth (the best part for this economic junky is where he says he’s for sound money. That of course, is a lie like all the rest):

Here’s Peter Schiff, a speaker at a separate pro-Paul event called P.A.U.L. Fest, receiving a text/email from Jesse “insider” Benton encouraging the investor-Austrian-Libertarian heavy-weight to not attend the event because, of course, all those Paul supporters are just cooky right-wingers.

Some good stuff is happening in Tampa. Here’s Tom Woods and Lew Rockwell speaking at P.A.U.L. Fest on the status of the state and the future of the liberty movement.

Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday down in Florida are going to be mighty interesting. Hopefully the Paul people energize the otherwise magnificent display of boredom.
